“Why can recovery from eating disorders
be harder than winning an Olympic medal?”

It was this question that fueled Catherine’s curiosity and determination to go beyond traditional treatment and embrace the power in her healing journey. From personal experiences and research, Catherine realizes that sharing her story and discoveries could help others...

In 2002, leaving her lifelong passion and dream to lead the Canadian team to the top in the next Olympic Games in Athens, Catherine heard her soul's deep cry for help. Now pursuing her studies without the extra stress of competing and performing as an athlete, Catherine was faced with the inevitable: facing her health struggles head on. This quest lead her into a new life passion; exploring human potential through the gateway of health and healing. Exploring alternative healing modalities, psychology and spirituality, Catherine discovered that the 'quick fix' she was hoping for, was in itself, part of the problem...

Born and raised in a suburb of Montreal, Canada, Catherine spent her childhood years as a pool rat. From an early age water was her home. Naturally following her love for the sport of synchronized swimming, Catherine first made the Canadian National team in 1995. 5 years later, her dedication to practice and perfection earned her a bronze medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. But Catherine’s drive for perfection was also creeping into her life outside the pool in a silent struggle with depression and eating disorders.

From Olympic Athlete and to Inspiring Health Educator...
Catherine's life experiences includes the completion of a business degree at the University of Toronto along with many formal trainings in the field of personal growth, speaking, health and human potential. Her journey even included performing as part of a mermaid show and Le Reve, one of the world’s biggest water productions in Las Vegas.
The start of 2010 marks a turning point in Catherine's career path when she launched the Wellness Olympiad: an online community and home study program available to women all over the world. Catherine now leads this unique and integrative approach to healing, which fosters individuality within a system of education, self-discovery and empowerment. Instead of viewing illness or disease solely as problems, Catherine encourages a new perspective all together; that these challenges are messages from our soul. Learning to eat (and live) with pleasure and peace IS possible!

In 2006, Catherine left her aquatic life as a performer, to venture into the world of natural health and wellness, working and living in both San Diego and Irvine, California. During this time, Catherine studied to become certified in BodyMind Nutrition from the Institute of BodyMind Nutrition in Calgary, Alberta. Catherine also enjoyed contacting physicians and naturopaths directly to further understand the health challenges she  experienced throughout her ungoing journey.

Moving to Northern Washington in 2009, Catherine joined the team of Cedar Springs Renewal Center as a dynamic program leader. Facilitating Qigong, BodyMind Nutrition and hands on kitchen class, Catherine's contributed to Cedar Springs' cleansing and rejuvenative programs. There, on the center's beautiful 50 acre farm land, Catherine experienced first hand the miraculous healing powers of nature. Working amongst small intimate groups, Catherine's time there also confirmed her growing desire, to offer guidance and support to women, who like her, struggled with eating, body image, weight challenges, or lack of self-confidence.
Sharing her toolkit of practices, insight and resources, Catherine's unique blend of spiritual inquiry, emotional clearing practice and nutritional education offers participants and clients the opportunity to form their own blueprint to wellness. Catherine also shares her educational journey through interviews she recorded with experts, health explorers, researchers and other women in recovery. She invites ALL to join her in the Wellness Olympiad.
